What’s our most popular model?
We’ve collated all Kubota RTV sales in Tasmania since 2005 to help you better understand the farm application for each model.
Nationally, the Kubota RTV-X900 diesel is the most popular model in the RTV range, and it’s no surprise that it is also the most popular in Tasmania, making up 42% of all Kubota RTV’s supplied across the state. The RTV-X900 is the entry level diesel model and is suitable for livestock and dairy farmers who make up a major segment of the RTV market. The RTV-X900 offers a lower price point than the diesel RTV-X1120 series but offers a powerful 21.6HP 3cyl engine.
The Kubota RTV400 & RTV500 petrol series have recently been replaced by the 2020 release RTV-520 and together make up the second largest portion of Kubota RTV’s in Tasmania at 25%. The RTV520 offers the lowest price across the RTV range but still packs a punch with a petrol 17.4HP 2cyl engine. The RTV520 is the model of choice for hobby farmers wanting a farm vehicle for mixed uses on small acreage. However the RTV520 is also a popular machine for large scale commercial operations. In 2021 Tasmac worked with a large scale berry producer to supply four RTV520’s into their North East farm.
Coming in at 16%, the RTV-X1120 is the RTV-X900’s big brother, sporting a 24.8HP 3cyl diesel engine. The RTV-X1120 performs better than the RTV-X900 on steep properties and has been selected by several large scale vegetable, beef and dairy farmers.
The Kubota RTV-X1140 is the model with space for you, Spotty the dog and three of your mates. This 4 seater can be folded back into a 2 seater vehicle for additional tray space. This model has proven popular for transporting fruit pickers and golf club patrons. The RTV-X1140 is a specialised vehicle with a more defined market and therefore only makes up 8% of all RTV’s in Kubota Tasmania.
The 2019 release RTV-XG850 sidekick is a 48HP petrol RTV that comes in black and orange. This machine saw success in the US for several years before becoming available in Australia. Built in the US, the RTV-XG850 has improved transport for many of our livestock customers who can save time and cross their property at speeds of up to 64km/h. The sidekick series is a mix of recreational and workhorse purposes, and has been purchased for hunting, making the most of the fold down split screen windshield. The Sidekick range is still new for the Tasmanian market and currently only makes up 6% of all RTV’s in the state, but we expect this to increase sustainably in coming years.
Finally we have the RTV-X1100 diesel model, which includes a fully enclosed cab with heating and air con. Talk about luxury! This model makes up 3% of all RTV’s across our beautiful but often wet state and is a popular choice for operators seeking additional protection from the elements. This model is also useful for orchards as the tray can carry a spray tank.
Optional Accessories
Each model in the RTV range has an extensive range of accessories which enables you to build the machine you need for your operation. Most RTV’s are sold with at least a windscreen and canopy. There are options to improve the safety, comfort, and versatility of your machine. Add doors, bull bars, body guards, rear screens and additional mirrors. Reduce manual labour and install a hydraulic or electric tray lift, or an electric winch. For safety we can fit fire extinguishers, reverse beepers, turn signal and hazard lights, LED light bars, horns, speedometers and speed limiters.
